Rivera breaks record in weight throw at RITPublished by
Results | ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Junior Luis Rivera shattered his own school record Thursday in the 35-pound weight throw as Nazareth's track and field throwers competed at the RIT Early Season Invitational. Rivera won the event with a heave of 17.30 meters (56 feet, 9 1/4 inches), more than three feet beyond his previous best throw. He also ranks third nationally in that event, behind a thrower from Mount Union and one from Springfield.
